We spent a few days climbing at the New River Gorge and Meadow River Gorge, near Fayetteville, WV. Lots of killer sport and trad cragging on compact quartz-dense sandstone. Took a little getting used to after the Red, it was a bit more technical, but quite varied.
The Lower Meadow River area was covered by big tiered roofs with good but reachy holds. It was also good in the rain, which was the weather we had for 3 of the 4 days there. Endless Wall was aptly named, and was spattered with good cracks and bolted faces. Bubba City had a great arete climb up smooth rounded rock, starting in a chimney, with great gear placements in small horizontal cracks.
